From Stinky Thinking to Biblical Minded

How do you determine if your thoughts are not up to par. But are just  down right bad and stinky. Maybe even spoiled…. All actions begin with a thought. There is a reason why God tells us take our thoughts captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:15). Because every action has a starting place. Lets call that starting place the mind. So if you allow certain unclean thoughts to take up residence in your mind then sin is sure to follow. It makes my spirit shutter when i think of those that kill and say it was in the name of Jesus. Tsk Tsk … This is not only stinky thinking but stinky thinking turned up on some high grade steroids. So I ask how do we combat our thoughts? All transformations originate in a renewed process of our thinking.(Romans 12:2) Even the smallest of thoughts need to be corrected (i.e. that urge to watch something unclean or just the thought of taking that cute ink pen, or how about the fantasy we may often have of slapping the taste out someones mouth. )Most likely to follow with the saying, “I wish that I had met that person before Christ came into my life . I would have given them a not so Holy beat down.”  Let us not even entertain those smallest of thoughts. No matter how small , it’s still a portal for sin to come in. ( Philippians 4:8  ) Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things that are honest,  whatsoever things that are just, whatsoever things that pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things that of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. So instead of allowing our minds to wonder about. Let us  replace bad thoughts of all measures with biblical principles. Such as stated above. Then we can live in the true Peace of God. ( Ephesians 6:11-17 ) is a great reading of why we should capture our thoughts. Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (ref. Eph. 6:13-17). ( 1 Peter 1:13) Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. Amen let us be careful of what we entertain in our minds lest it seep into our hearts.

Don’t Judge Me, Just Pray!

Constantly I remember you in my prayers at all times; and I pray that now at last by God’s will the way may be opened for me to come to you. I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong- that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith. {Romans 1:9b-12}.

Have you ever felt like you just couldn’t get it right for the life of you? Well  guess what,  you are not alone. Sometimes I feel like if I could jump the hurdles in my path,  if I just had someone to lend a prayer or 2 in my favor then things would be better. But what happens much too often as Christians; we  see someone going through, and  instead of us lending a hand or praying for those we see struggling, we turn on the fiery eyes of “Condemnation and “Judgement” which are not God like actions.[See Matt. 7:1-3, Romans 8:1}

In Romans Paul prayed for the people and wanted to impart spiritual gifts to make them stronger. Shouldn’t we as Christians follow his  example? We should help our sisters & brothers in Christ thru prayer that they too can become Kingdom ready.
